Volunteering

"If it is true that we find Christ in the people that we touch, the people that we are to serve, then everything we do, no matter how small, has meaning and should be done extremely well."
Sr. Therese Dush, Founder

Young People Who Care ministers to the needs of people in Central Appalachia Pennsylvania. Volunteers provide services not provided by other groups or agencies. YPWC is one mission which responds to the cries of the poor. This mission is special and unique in that the persons who volunteer are invited to live a life of solidarity with the poor.

"I came to YPWC because in my heart I was looking for a place to be of service to people, to be in touch with the needs of others, to find a place where I COULD GIVE MY SELF. It's done very easily here, and it's done with a lot of joy because it's done in community."
